SURGE BINS
A surge bin or metering bin allows inconsistant flows of material to be accumulated and metered. Surges occur throughout mills, we determine how long that surge will last and design a surge bin with enough holding capacity for the surge condition. While accumulating the surges, we also meter the flow of material out of the surge bin at a desired flow rate. Most all high pressure systems should have a surge/metering bin delivering material to the system to save horsepower and create smooth operation.
